Money is anything that people will accept as payment in exchange for goods or services.
The earliest forms of money were used to create a system of value so that people could compare items they
wanted to exchange. This system of value was used for more than just buying or selling things -- it became a
marker of status, a characteristic that money still has today.
Eventually, someone came up with the idea of using precious metals (gold and silver or their alloys) as
money. Beginning in Mesopotamia and Egypt around 4500 years ago, gold and silver began to be traded in
the form of metal bars or bits of wire. The next big step occurred when little round lumps of electrum (a
naturally occurring alloy of gold and silver) began to be issued to a standard set of weights and marked by
the issuer. These became the first coins.
Paper currency was the next major step in the evolution of money. Appearing some time during the 8th
century in China, paper money has become the most common form of currency in use today. The possible
exception to this is the latest innovation in currency: electronic money.
What makes you a great leader
1. The skill of self-awareness
Success begins within. When you have a sense of who you are, it invites you to do something about it. Having selfawareness amounts to being better advised. The more you know yourself, the closer you can become to being all you can
be.
2. The skill of business acumen--and then some
Success begins with keenness and quickness in understanding and dealing with a business situation in a manner that is
likely to lead to a good outcome. In the competitive environment of business, being the best at what you do is good,
making good decisions is great-;but a clear, comprehensive understanding of the business environment you're operating
in is invaluable.
3. The skill of relationship-building
Building lasting relationships is the cornerstone of all business success, and respect is at the heart of building business
relationships. It is the glue that holds together the functioning of teams, partnerships, and managing relationships. Even
with the best products and business practices, you still need strong relationships to succeed.
International Meeting
During the business meeting with Henning K, we went over a few things that need to be done to help the development of
our new business venture. Since we were having problems contacting each other and finding the time for a meeting, we
decided to do a meeting over the phone. These are the main aspects of our business that we discussed.
We need to hire a few key people that will help our E business grow. We have funding, we are incorporated, and we have
a CPA. Those are major positions that we have already filled, but there are still some more positions available. We need
to hire a liaison to communicate between us and the manufacturing plant in Mexico, which will be doing the manufacturing
of the green insulation and then will send the order through their shipping department to contractors. This liaison will
make sure that orders to their manufacturing plant are actually filled, in addition to keeping track of shipping or logistics to
contractors, etc. Even though we have everything automated we still need to ensure that everything runs smoothly and
customer orders are delivered on time. Our business is growing very rapidly and even now you are only working on this
business part time. Even though we have been taking care of this by ourselves up to this point, soon we will find that we
do not have the time to do this ourselves.
Internet influence on kids
Since the invention of the internet our lives have been changed forever. Most of the changes have been for the best, but
there are some bad effects to the internet as well. Nearly all the people in the United States have access to the internet.
Our lives will forever be changed with the invention of the internet.
The major contribution of the internet is the sharing of information. Looking up information couldn't get any easier.
The internet is full of sites on anything and everything you can think of. Doing research for school has been made simpler
than ever. You can do a report without leaving your house to go to the library, where you would spend hours looking up
information on your topic.
Communication to anywhere in the world has been made possible with the internet. E-mail has made sending
letters extremely quick and easy. Family members can keep in touch even if they live across the country. In chat rooms
people are able to meet other people from around the world. Another big contribution of the internet is the ability to buy
products from home. People that live away from the city can buy things on the internet as if they are at the mall. Other
people that are unable to get out have the convince of shopping from home. The internet has also allowed millions of
people to work from home. Instead of reading the newspaper to get the daily news, people can turn to the internet and
read news from around the world. E-bay has made the buying and selling of personal items over the internet possible. As
you can tell, the internet has changed our daily lives forever.
Will newspaper go out of business or become only digital
Newspapers have been dying in slow motion for two decades now. In Canada, this talk has transcended the hypothetical;
the government commissioned a report that speculates on what Canada’s democracy might look like in a post-newspaper
world. In Britain, too, Prime Minister Theresa May has warned that the closure of newspaper after newspaper is a “danger
to democracy;” Britain has nearly 200 fewer regional and local newspapers now than in 2005. The picture is similar in the
U.S. A once unimaginable scenario has lately become grimly conceivable.
