The climate of Russia for the greater part of the country is continental or moderately
continental with a long cold winter in a short, cool summer. The coldest area is in Siberia,
where the "cold pole" is located, in the area of the city of Verkhoyansk, and the average
winter temperature here is -60°C. In the European part of Russia, in Moscow for
example, the average temperature in the winter is from 16° to 19°C, and in the summer
from +15° to 23°C.
