Annotation. The article considers the problem of improving the competitiveness of the Russian economy.
The state's new role as a regulator in the economy of global risks is exposed. It is shown that strengthening of
the role of the government in the economy is required. And the state institutions are viewed as determinants of
national competitiveness. The author also shows the advantages and disadvantages of public corporations.
