STATEMENT OF PURPOSE In this personal statement, I would like to describe my experience and motivation for applying for an internship program at KAUST. At school, my favorite subject was mathematics. I enjoyed solving complex analytical problems and trying to find easy solutions to these problems. The interaction between theory and practice, and their point of intersection, prompted me to learn more. As I got older, I also realized the immense importance of mathematics in industry and everyday life, and this greatly influenced my decision to study mathematics at the highest level. While in high school, I received the Gold Medal at the Republican and several international mathematics Olympiads. These first notable achievements gave me many opportunities to enroll in leading universities both in my country and abroad. Finally, I accepted the offer of the Russian government to provide me with a scholarship for a full study at the Institute of Ecotechnology and Engineering of NUST MISIS in Moscow. In my first year, I began to explore some of the research areas that exist at my university, actively discussing possible research projects with the laboratory leaders. In March 2014, I joined the group of assistant Mikhail Vladimirovich Vasiliev. I have gained solid experience with many 3D modeling programs. During this time, I have received promising results for future research and have mastered laboratory skills. Since it is very important for a young scientist to participate in various conferences, seminars and competitions, I tried to present my scientific discoveries as early as possible. I reported on the results of our laboratory not only at local student conferences, but also at the All-Russian conference. With an inquisitive mind, my desire to develop became even stronger. Active participation in research activities allowed me to experience the excitement of new discoveries, innovative approaches and a satisfying sense of contribution. In addition to my solid theoretical and practical experience gained from my engineering training, I have excellent communication skills and the ability to work both individually and as a part of a team. I believe that attending your university, which seeks to provide an education that encourages students to engage deeply and actively in topics that can change the world, will open up new perspectives for me; so I would like to be accepted for an internship in Mechanical Engineering with Professor BASSAM DALLY. I hope that this opportunity will be given to me, and I look forward to your reply. Thank you in advance for your time and attention. Sincerely yours, Ibragimov Khusrav
