TRIPLE SPIRAL
The Celtic triple spiral
or triskele symbol is
sometimes called the
spiral of life and was
found in the Newgrange site from the
Bronze Age in Ireland.
The triple spiral is an
ancient symbol of Celtic
beliefs, and was used consistently
in Celtic art for 3 millennia. The
Celts believed that all life moved
in eternal cycles, regenerating at
each point. Celts also believed
that all important things came in
three phases, for example: birth,
death, and rebirth; or mind, body,
and spirit.

Our name comes from the common use of ’Sandy’ in Ireland with
a few places called ’Sandyford’
or ’Sandymount’ for example. So
why not have a ’Sandy Kelt’? The
logic was there so now you are
here, have another glass of wine
or pint of Irish beer!

THE SANDY TALE
The ‘Sandy Kelt’ was born in the way that any good idea should
sprout from the mind with a feed of pints and a load of good grub
among Finnish and Irish minds alike. Homesickness can also effect
the strongest of wills and thus one Will wished to bring a little bit
of Ireland to this Finnish oddity of sun, sand and snow.
But this was not to be an ordinary venture into the business of
pubbing; this was to be done to bring to this part of the land a true
experience for us weary Finnish souls looking for some Irish ease. To
reach these heady heights was no mean feat as Ireland is a rock in
the Atlantic some thousands of miles away and to transport a little
piece of that land here would take tenacity and time. Even though
our time was short, our will was true and now you are sitting in the
proof of our laborious endeavours.
Our nations are closer than logic would suggest with hearts on
sleeves and thoughts in steam our common faults are fun to jest.
So visit or crawl and welcome for a few, for a bird never flew on
one wing and neither should you. The first steps are taken and
only time will tell but you are all invited to join us as well!
