The article provides biographical information about a
brilliant university teacher, philosopher, and literary critic,
whose many years of life were associated with Warsaw
Imperial University. The main stages of E.A.
formation as a philosopher are briefly listed. Emphasis is
given to his merits as a teacher who contributed to the
development of university philosophy. He remained faithful
to the service of philosophy and his students even after
Warsaw University's 1915 evacuation to the city of Rostovon-Don.
