Abstract
This paper describes basic design principles of the first version of next-generation decision support system for providing personalized patients care based on patients’ clinical and treatment
data with the use of semantic web technology and ontologies. The described ontology-based solution is intended for easy accumulating and updating semantically enriched information about
clinical guidelines and treatment recommendations in form of ontology, analyzing pool of patients’ clinical data, health records and descriptions of clinical situations, providing on its base
knowledge about treatment standards, clinical guidelines, healthy lifestyle, preventive measures
and treatment modes and granting access to this knowledge to all medical practitioners when
they need to make a decision on the most appropriate way of treatment for their patients.
